Heike Ellermann (born in 1945), has been working as a freelancer since 1982; from 1987 as an illustrator and author of children’s picture books with two nominations for the German Youth Literature Prize. Since 2005 she has been expanding her artistic activities with experiments in the field of photography and in the medium of ‘paper theatre’. In the area of book art, she creates original volumes in a variety of techniques and in strictly limited editions. Her 2016 book‚ ‘Die Winterreise. Bilder von Heike Ellermann zu dem Gedichtzyklus von Wilhelm Müller’, with its 24 illustrations, is a prime example of this work.
